Once painkillers hit the market, the traditional electrotherapy machines for treating pain were no longer a crowd favourite. This was mainly because traditional TENS and other electrotherapy machines were a little tricky to adjust, difficult to travel with and didn’t always produce the right frequencies needed for consistent treatment. It wasn’t until the 1970’s that TENS (transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation) technology was refined and reintroduced to the general public as a method for treating pain.
Unfortunately in today’s day and age, the medicinal painkillers that once reigned would barely have an effect. Humankind’s tolerance for over-the-counter and prescription painkillers has sky-rocketed through generations of use and in some cases, abuse.
To provide a drug-free alternative to this epidemic, the team at PainPod developed an advanced TENS device for pain reduction with added EMS (electrical muscle stimulation) technology to aid muscle recovery and enhance performance.
The advanced TENS frequencies used in PainPod technology have been tested and medically isolated by PainPod for optimal pain relief.
The treatment works by sending gentle, electrical impulses through the nerves of the body. These pulses interfere with and block pain messages from being sent to the brain which then temporarily (in some cases permanently) provides pain relief. PainPod devices can be used on the lower back, arms, legs, stomach, feet, shoulders; virtually any area of the body that is suffering from pain.
Strength is not gained during exercise, but while the body is in the rehabilitation phase. In order to strengthen the muscle, the body must repair itself from the strain of exercise. Effective recovery means greater performance and lowered likelihood of injury relapse.
“By combining TENS and EMS bio technology, PainPod is able to stimulate muscles for improved recovery and development,” says Rick Rowan, the CEO of PainPod Australia. “PainPod also manages sports injuries or post workout pain by delivering fast, medication-free pain relief, anywhere, anytime.”
