Brendon Crawley

Bareback Bronc Rider

Brendon is a bareback rider from the ACT who competes at professional rodeos all over Australia and has also completed a few professional circuits in the USA. In 2023, Brendon won the Rookie of the Year and Pro Tour Champion BareBack Rider awards after a successful pro season.

Tell us about your background and story to where you are today?

I started riding steers and bulls when I was a junior and then progressed onto bareback horses and fell in love with the sport. I’ve been riding bareback horses around 10 years now.

What have been your biggest accomplishments?

In rodeo wise, multiple nationals finals contestant, central circuit title,  runner up at the mesquite summer series in Texas, qualifying for the Texas circuit finals, privallged enough to ride at Sydney show on multiple occasions. Winner of Australia’s most famous rodeo Warwick last year & currently leading the 2023 APRA bareback champion circuit.

In life: winning the amazing race Australia & becoming a father to my 3 beautiful boys and soon to be married to the love of my life !

What is your best career highlight from your involvement in sports?

All of the above ! And having. New comers come to me for guidance !

Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years with your endeavours?

Competing back over in the US in the professional circuit.

What advice would you give to your younger self?

Surround yourself with others who are willing to push you to push yourself and what you to succeed. Positive people and vibes only!! Mind set is 99% of rodeo!

How did you enter the professional sport world?

I’m a 3rd generation cowboy

What are the keys to success for anyone looking to replicate a similar pathway?

Mind set!!!!! Training and being shown the correct way from the get go.

How do you successfully manage your life and training balance?

Having a supportive wife who is good at scheduling everything for me haha

What do you use your PainPod for? Recovery !!! On the way home or after a rodeo it’s a MUST!

What is your favourite PainPod accessory?

The sticky pads. From the get go they’ve been my favourite as I can put them anywhere and directly on my sore points in which could change every ride. Greatful for all the accessories but if I had to pick one to carry it would be them!
