Carla has been playing basketball since she was 10 years old and has played for a variety of basketball clubs in Australia, USA and the UK.
Carla recently completed her first season with the Sheffield Hatters Womens Basketball team in Sheffield, UK as part of the Women’s British Basketball League.
I started playing basketball at 10 years old for my primary school team and quickly decided I wanted to make a career out of the sport. Through a lot of hard work and after a lot of setbacks, rejections, and heartbreak, I finally started to make national teams and achieve my goals. I owe all my success to my family as they've given up so much time and money to support me.
First WNBL Minutes for the Townsville Fire against some of the country's best players.

Don't be so hard on yourself, trust the process and that everything will work out how it's supposed to.
Through hard work, I was recognized by a WNBL coach and developed a relationship with him. He offered me a WNBL Development Contract and taught me so much.
Work your butt off
Be kind to yourself
Look after your body and mind
I try to maintain a healthy balance between training and life by enjoying my down time away from basketball. Typically when I'm not training I will have some me-time catching up on shows or reading books, and I also make time to socialize with friends and family. Having this balance keeps my mind happy and healthy and allows me to be refreshed for my next training/game.
I use my PainPod for recovery. Whether I'm sore or not I pop it on my body after training and games to help avoid soreness and speed up recovery time.
My favourite PainPod accessory is the PainPod 3 because it has many different modes that cater to different parts of my body!
