Tell us about your background and story to where you are today?

I am a former College Basketball Player, currently playing in the VFL for the Brisbane Lions and representing Queensland in AFL. I am getting ready for another upcoming season with the Lions.

What are your favourite things about Basketball and AFL?

My favourite thing about both sports is the people you get to meet and the connections you have for life. I love being around like minded people that are challenged and have to respond from challenges in training, fitness and games.

What have been your biggest accomplishments in your athletic career?

Representing the QLD state team in 2024 and 2025 was awesome. Winning the NTFL and QAFL grand finals were also an amazing experience. The National Championship for Basketball in U18 was a massive accomplishment for Queensland Basketball.

Where do you envision yourself in the next 5 years with Basketball and AFL?

I want to give myself the best possibility to play the highest level of AFL I can whether that's VFL or AFL, I want to tackle the challenge. Basketball I am involved in a lot of coaching at community/rep level, so providing opportunities to players here and using more experience to guide.

Have you faced any setbacks throughout your athletic career?

I have broken my wrist, feet, tailbone, jaw, nose, fingers, ankle. I have also been dealt with missing out on selection for teams.

What advice would you give to your younger self?

You either win or you learn. If you make a mistake, don't view it as a mistake, view it as an opportunity to learn and another obstacle to tackle. Small steps. Stay positive.

How did you start training and competing in Basketball and AFL?

My Mum was a professional basketball player so I was naturally guided to that as soon as I could walk. AFL I started when I was 16, I got invited to a Gold Coast Suns testing day and then did well and took further steps towards it.

What are the keys to success for anyone looking to replicate a similar pathway?

Comparison is the thief of joy. Sometimes if you focus on what others are doing you lose focus of yourself, so stay focused on your goals and the steps to succeeding them.

How do you successfully manage your life and training balance?

Sometimes sacrifices need to be made, so social life can be difficult, I think it is important to be social, but to prioritise what is important and what is not based on your goals.

What made you interested in PainPod?

I was using the equipment during some of my recovery period and felt it made a big difference to my recovery, I also love the engagement with semi-professional athletes too.
