Jackson Brumley

Performance Coach & Gym Owner

Jackson Brumley, a former aspiring AFL player, is now a successful coach and gym owner specializing in high-performance sports, working with athletes at all levels. His biggest reward comes from seeing his clients achieve their goals. His athletic background includes an U16 state championship and playing for the GC Suns NEAFL team. He is focused on expanding his Gold Coast gym and online coaching business to impact thousands of athletes.

Tell us about your background and story to where you are today?

I come from a sporting background in many sports but focused on AFL as I got older with the goal of going pro! As time went on I grew a massive love for the high performance side of sport while I was still playing footy. Eventually I decided to step back from footy to pursue coaching and build a gym and coaching business that can help athletes from grass roots to pro levels. A few years later I’m now living to 70+ work week dreams and running the gym and wouldn't have it any other way!

What are your favourite things about being a Coach/Gym owner?

Helping people achieve their goals. Being able to watch someone's progress from when they start with us to when they achieve their goal is pretty awesome.

What have been your biggest accomplishments in your athletic career?

Winning the state championship in the u16’s then playing for the GC suns NEAFL (div 2) side.

Where do you envision yourself in the next 5 years with being a Coach/Gym owner?

Owning the go to coaching business and gym on the Gold Coast and one of the biggest online. While having transformed 1000’s of athletes and working with plenty of pro athletes!

Have you faced any setbacks throughout your athletic career?

Across my athletic career I struggled with stress fracture in my shin which lost me a full season and then recently in a return to footy I suffered a full ACL rupture.

What advice would you give to your younger self?

Keep doing what you're doing and stay locked in. Read more, procrastinate less.

What are the keys to success for anyone looking to replicate a similar pathway?

Consistently keep showing up for longer than what most think is unreasonable and you will get the results if you learn along the way. Be a good person and build strong relationships.

How do you successfully manage your life and training balance?

It’s hard, and sometimes isn’t perfect but I live in my calendar and try to schedule my days in advance. I find I fit training best when I schedule it into my calendar.

What made you interested in PainPod?

I really looked into business like PainPod after I did my knee and after research and referrals from mates I looked into it more and thought PainPod offered some great products which support athletes and had the same goals as myself with the gym.

How do you incorporate PainPod into your training and recovery routine?

I usually find myself using PainPod through warm ups and also when I’m sitting at the desk to keep the quad firing.
