The PainPod Ultra combines both ways of working in one device. Two Bluetooth receivers handle remote treatment with no wires to your pads, while two plug-in ports run wired pads and accessories at the same time. TENS may help by blocking pain signals on their way to the brain, while EMS contracts the muscle to help release tension, support recovery and encourage circulation.

Straight out of the box that means four treatment points at once, or four people. Two further receivers can be added separately, taking it to six. Because the receivers work remotely, the device itself can stay put while you move around - you can set up a treatment and leave the Ultra at home while you head out for a walk.

Everything runs through a touchscreen, with 12 modes and 20 intensity settings. As a general guide, aim for around 30 minutes on, then 30 minutes off.
